Or maybe the Nexus 7 toolkit kept the old permissions on the files and apps I backed up from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2.

It looks like somewhere after the 4.2.2 update (I had a rooted 4.2.1 and manually flashed the update) some old folders locked themselves. Installed Dropbox again from the store and it's now working again!!! Renamed the folder "" and rebooted my device. I didn't wanted to fire up ADB so I went for the second best solution: the folder wasn't allowing me to delete it, but it had no problems with me renaming it. Tried ES File Explorer with root permissions granted and even after a "folder sucessfully deleted" message, the little fucker was still there. I deleted the app once again, no issues here.
